it was very surreal and very cool, there were so many!!

below, two day trip up mekong to houyxai, first day and first boat (better)

below are a couple of pics at the stop over.

below, leaving in the morning with a cool mist surrounding the mountains
moments after hitting rocks, i composed my self to get a couple of action shots of the driver and helpers assessing the damage!! only a small leak! no probs!

below, the locals with kids were not happy to carry on so they got off and had to trek to the nearest village to stay the night and get picked up the next day!

above, bathing time for the locals, and below, sunset! (should have been in houyxai before sunset but boat was slow with the water onboard
below leaving laos
below, thailand ahead, just across the river!
below back in chang mai, on my own exploring a couple of sites

accidently came across the beginning of a concert, think it was the last of the celebrations for the king's 60 yeaar rein

below, most nights were spent at the riverside bar, hoping to bump into tee (found him last night there but realised i was in the farang(white man) area and he was always in the smaller area for locals. both areas had cool bands covering loads of songs). this pic is looking through glasses at the jonnie walker neon sign, i thought it looked cool, but i was drunk!!

above, stumbled across this cool shop with trees inside and out. bought a cool john gallery tee shirt here!
above, the sunday market was setting up whilst i was uploading pics, with this cool camper van selling drinks and snacks!!
xmas pressies, plus my cool bedsheet cover!!
above and below, cool artwork from scrap metal of alien and predator, outside the internet cafe i spent most of each day in uploading my backlog of pics!!
