Darwin, kakado national park

ok so the two pics below are of the sunset on darwin beach, this was after we had visited the sunday market meters from the beach, i treated myself to some crocodile, tasted like pork? then also had some timor noodles and then hong kong style blackbean and beef foe mains! desert i had mint choc chip ice cream!! very expensive for a back packer but well worth it!!! also looked at all the indiginous artwork and didge's. very good market!

that was the very last evening with my travels with stan and sofie, very sad to see them go, stan had to work and sophie met a friend to travel with. very good times were had with them so ill be popping by holland to see my new dutch friends in the near future! ive learnt that apparently there is more to holland than amsterdam!!shocking news? so i was lucky to meet ceciel and dennis, also from holland through them as they offered me a lift from darwin to alice springs! i think all of holland is travelling at the mo!! they managed to squeeze me in their car and off i went on a new adventure!!! first stop was kakado, indigenous rock art was aplenty, its hard to see what is going on as some is 20,000 years old but the clearer stuff is only 40 years old. basically they tell crazy stories of life or magic

forrst fires were becoming an every day sight!

we took a few short walks in the park(Above) but they were not too impressive, the highlight was the yellow water boat cruise, we hoped to see a saltie croc and we were not dissapointed, we see about 10 in the end, plus got to see some birds and animals along the way before sunset!

unfortunately our time was cut short in kakado as their car had engine trouble, leaking coolant (head gasget!!! plus a bald tyre!) not good news for them so we headed to katherine early to put the car in the garage to get fixed! felt very sorry for then as they have had bad luck with their car, hopefully this is their last service/expense!!!
